Alastair is flexible and able to play classical, contemporary and jazz and can cater for most situations and budgets.
Alastair has at his disposal a mobile, black Grand Piano with a self-powered sound system. This adds a much higher visual profile to his performances. It is ideal for Weddings in a garden, vineyard, Lakeside or other remote setting where a regular power supply is not available.
On the Jazz scene he has performed in Invercargill & Queenstown for the past 10 years playing for "Southern Dixie" and "In Walked Bud".As a soloist Alastair Monteath has played regularly at Monteiths Bar (for 1 year), Southland Stadium, & Ascot Park Hotel for conferences where dignaitaries such as John Key and Helen Clark have been in attendance.
Alastair Monteath has also performed for many weddings, restaurants and the regular Jazz Club Friday Night Gig.
He has a Fellowship of Trinity College London on Trumpet and has represented New Zealand in both National Youth Bands and National Band Overseas Tours.
Alastair has been a High School Music Teacher in Invercargill for the past 22 years with a strong interest in Jazz.
In his teaching career he has taken and conducted school groups to perform at festivals in Hawaii, Singapore & at the Sydney Opera House on three seperate occassions.
